Limit of Technology is associated with the lowest effluent concentrations than can be achieved using any treatment technology. It is commonly referred to as an upper bound in nutrient removal performance. Effluent values of the Limit of Technology are debatable. Some approaches define it as the minimum effluent concentrations that can be expected to be reliably met over a specific averaging period using proven and available treatment processes.
