Description
This project will support a tremendous local partnership which is leading the renovation efforts of the Iowa State Fair Discovery Garden by incorporation of urban conservation and educational components. This project will include installation of a permeable surface material along with education signage, outreach and demonstration components in a highly visible area to support local urban water quality improvement efforts.

The renovation of the Discovery Garden will include additional items beyond the scope of this grant, including the construction of a new gazebo, edging around the Perennial garden bed, new perimeter fencing and the addition of substantial art pieces to be installed throughout the Garden. As for urban conservation, we will continue our education seminar series, Discover Gardening, during the summer months which includes demonstration of the benefits of permeable pathways, native grasses, rain gardens and pollinators.
